Dashing Through the snow

Every year two great mystery and suspense artists collaborate to make an amazing holiday book. Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark. This year they wrote a book called Dashing Through the snow. Its set in a small town in New Hampshire where they are having a winter festival called the Festival of Joy. When 5 employees at a local grocery store win the the lottery it is nothing but complicated. So, Alvirah Meehan and Regan Reilly team up to solve the mystery as always. This is an amazing book and I highly recommend it.

nineteen minutes

A lot can happen in nineteen minutes
you find this out when you read the riveting novel by Jodi Picoult
By now you all must no I love Jodi Picoult from my raving review of her book My sister's keeper. Well if you need a good book this is the book to read its quite suspenseful.
Let me warn you though, it switches time periods and characters a lot so don't get confused, if needed make a list and write down an indentifying characteristic so you can remember because EVERYONE is important in the end to putting the puzzle back together. For example: Zoey-went to the orthodontist and heard an explosion.
Now onto the plot, there are so many twists I don't want to give anything away so all I can say is its about friendship and love and difficult choices and a High School shooting in a small town.
Now go read it
Oh and by the way its called Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult incase you didn't catch that :)

Classics

I really have a thing for the classics. Classic movies, classic music (not classical, classic rock), and of course classic books. Right now I am reading a very amazing classic called Wuthering Heights. Chances are you have read twilight and that is how you know about wuthering heights. Let me tell you though that this is my second time reading this book and it is not an easy read. It has confusing plot twists and an old english language that is not always easy to decipher. So, if you are just reading it out of interest because of reading twilight you need to know it is difficult and requires a high degree of attention. But if you want to read it don't get discouraged keep going because it is a truly wonderful book.

The phenomenon

So, about two years ago my friend began reading this book series and saying how amazing it was, I didn't really want to read it. Then last year some more people started reading it. Little did I know that they weren't the only ones. The series twilight was sweeping not just the nation but the world. Still, I was not very interested because I thought it was going to be one of those things where everyone says its amazing but really its not that good. Then, a very close friend, whose opinion I trust entirely told me I had to read them. So, I started and boy was I wrong. These are the most amazing books you will ever read and that's coming from me the Harry Potter fanatic (which by the way I was reading the series for the third time this summer so that's why I haven't been posting). I finished the whole series rather slowly because I didn't want it to end but then I decided hey, if I love them so much I don't want them to end I'm just going to have to read them again. So, here I am done all four books and on page 117 of twilight (the first one). These books are absolutely fantastic and if you haven't read them I encourage you to do so. As well, the movie comes out on November, 21st. But please read the books first and then go see the movie trust me it'll be worth your while.

Excuses

I could give you a million excuses why I haven't been posting, but the bottom line is I haven't and sorry. So, first I wanted to respond to a comment and say that "I know my kid's a star" is on muchmoremusic or MMM and sorry I don't know what number that is because you may have satelitte or cable or something different from me so I couldn't tell you. The series is over, but it is practically always playing on that channel. One show I forgot to mention and I'm suprised I forgot about it because it's my favourite show and it's called "Gilmore Girls". Remember if you have any question or comments feel free to post them. So, seeing as I am a Gossip Girl fan I have to recommend the new series Gossip Girl the Carlyles. The same Gossip Girl, but different characters, the carlyles are triplets and they're living in Blair Waldorf's old house. Another book I just finished is called Ophelia and it's a spinoff of the terrific and timeless Hamlet. Ophelia is the one Hamlet loves and now it's her turn to tell her story. It has everything romance, adventure, mystery and more. I have more books to talk about later, but that's enough for one post.

other stuff

Well, I love to read as I have mentioned, but that does not mean I don't like watching T.V. or movies. In fact I'm a bit of a coach potato when it comes to some shows. I just wanted to recommend some shows and later I'll do something else (wait for a new post about another new update I'm doing). I wanted to recommend Gossip Girl in case you haven't already watched some they are GREAT!! I love the books, but they are ten times better thean books and I love that I read the books first because I relate them. I also think that Pushing Daisies is great, but because of the writers strike it won't be back until the fall so hold out with me. Another great show is Jon & Kate plus 8. It is about these parents who had twins then wanted one more child and got sixtuplets and it's real! They are fantastic parents and it follows them in their everyday life styles. Survivor is a show most of you have probably heard of, but maybe not watched well it is great and I have been watching it since the first season. I really like the show Amazing Race (another reality series) and lastly (if I didn't forget anything) I love this new reality series called I know my kid's a star. It's about these kids trying to get famous and their parents trying to help it is HILARIOUS!!! So, i just wanted to tell you about a few of my favourite T.V. shows, but of course I'll keep talking about books I think that, that is my one and only T.V. show post. So, I hope you liked it.

Stuck in Neutral

I was recommended this book called Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman. One of my teachers gave me he book (well more like forced it upon me) and said it was really good. It's short so I figure I'll get it done in one night and of the 26 pages I've read so far it's not all that bad. I recommend it since apparently it is really good as I have been told by almost every person who has seen me reading it. Anyway just thought I'd recommend another book in case you are stuck in a book rut like seem to be lately. I'm going to read this book and then try the Davinci code and we'll see what happens so check for updates soon.

News

I had an amazing experience that I just wanted to tell you guys about. When I'm older I want to be an anchor and so I when our class had a career day I emailed global news and I got to follow around the anchors Anne-Marie Mediwake and Leslie Roberts for a day. It was the most amazing experience I got to watch them do the news and sit on set and I definitely want that as my future career. So I just thought I'd share my good news with you.

The Memory Keepers Daughter

I've been reading this book lately that's called The Memory Keepers Daughter. It is an award winning book and even a movie has been made about it. It is about a little girl who is mentally disabled so her father sends her away and the nurse he gives her to takes her and keeps her. The father tells the mother the daughter died and this really depresses the mother even though she has the little girl's brother since they were twins. This book is riveting and I hope you enjoy it. Another note I just wanted to say for all you Gossip Girl fans (including me), new episodes are finally back and they are great! So as always if you need adivce or just have a question feel free to ask.

My Sister's keeper

I have been crazy busy lately, but of course I always find the time to read. I highly recommend this book called My Sister's keeper by: Jodi Picoult. Jodi Picoult is an award winning author and I can see why this book is amazing. It is about Kate who is diagnosed with leukemia and so she needs someone to give her blood and bone marrow. So, her parents basically create another child so Kate can stay alive this child is Anna and because of much research she is a perfect blood match for Kate and therefore a perfect donor. Anna has given her life up to help Kate, but when it comes to giving her kidney up she draws the line she goes to a lawyer and begins to sue her parents so she can keep her kidney. Will she win or will her parents? This book is filled with plot twists and it is fantastic it has something for everyone.

Dreams

Dreams
Dare to dash,
Dare to dance,
Dare to dare,
but most of all,
Dare to dream.
Live your dream as best you can,
follow your heart and the rest will follow.
It's what fuels us all,
make a wish and jump,
then keeping chasing.

That is poem on dreams remember that dreams are so important, but keep it reasonable. Tell me what you think.

Poems

Wilt
Like a flower with no sun,
Like a tree with no water,
Like a girl with no desire.
Wandering and tuckered,
Innocent and lost,
Lonely and isolated,
Tired, but wishful.
Seeing you there,
I don't know what to say,
and so I stay quiet,
and Wilt.
I wished so many times that I could say,
But I never can,
and so instead I Wilt.
Until one day I write a note...
No longer do I wilt.

So, I've been reading a series lately that I already told you about so, I haven't had anything to write but, I guess I shall write some more poetry. Here is one of my latest poems it is called Wilt and I hope you liked it. Please comment.

OOPS!!

OOPS!! I haven't updated in awhile. I'm really sorry but I've been really busy. I have one book to tell you about that I thought was absolutely amazing!! A girl I know from school went to England and bought thais book and leant it to me. It's called Letters from the inside. It is about two girls who started a pen pal relationship both for different reasons and became close. They tell each other secrets that are astonishing and the twists and turns in the book will make it virtually impossible to put down. This book is by John Marsden. If you can find it that is terrific because I'm not quite sure if it's available at Chapters. If you know where you can find it then let me know.

Poetic

I feeling rather poetic today and so here's another poem

I love you too:
I was nervous
You were there
I said I needed something
You said I needed you
I smiled
I didn't know then
I know now
I do need you
I hope you need me too
You are there
You did need me
Do you still?
I hope so
Things changed
We came back
I remembered
Did you?
I hope so
I love you too

Poetry

I'm also a bit a poetry person so I wrote this.
I am ME:
Seeing as it really is
you don't see it
you don't believe it
you never will understand
perfection is something I crave
I know nothing's perfect
I fight for what I believe
change, life, it all depends
I need that to be happy
if you don't that's fine
just let me live the way I want
I don't need you or what you believe
I am ME!!
